for two national Emmy Awards – for “Outstanding
Writing” and “Outstanding
Informational
Programming.”
The
Self-Made
Man was
also
awarded
a
CINE
Golden
Eagle
award
for excellence in film, and won Duke University's Center for Documentary Studies
Award for “combining originality and creativity with firsthand experience
in examining central issues of contemporary life and culture.”
Video Librarian has also named The Self-Made Man one of the “best documentaries of 2006.” Read about it.

The Self-Made Man has screened at numerous film festivals,

Documentary Film Festival, Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal,
SXSW Film Festival, Seoul Independent Documentary Festival, AFI/Discovery Channel
SILVERDOCS Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, and Council
on Foundations Film and Video Festival.
